Sandra Fierro-Andrews Biography
Sandra Fierro-Andrews
Was born in Cali, Colombia. As a Child she grew up surrounded by music. She learned to play the piano at the age of 5 and also sued other instruments until she was a teenager. She learned to dance salsa in her hometown as she was surrounded by all sorts of festivals, parties, celebrations all year round. Salsa dancing is part of her.
She moved to Minnesota, 12 years ago and joined a performance team for the following 4 years allowing her to learn LA Style Salsa and polish her own styling. She moved to Denver a few years ago and joined Lucas Prat and Alma Latina Denver Salsa and Bachata teams.
Sandra currently decided to create her own salsa routines with her Colombian Salsa dance partner Julio Martinez to continue her personal growth and be able to share her Colombian salsa style with others. Sandra has performed in different international salsa Congresses, Events and World Cups like in Chicago, Miami, Utah, Minnesota, Denver and LA. She continues to learn as a student taking classes with other professionals in the field. Sandra is also a group Fitness Instructor and AFAA Certified and teaches different formats such as Zumba, Cycle, Step, Barbell Strength, and Power Strength.
Julio Martinez Biography
Julio Martinez
Colombian native Julio Martinez moved to the United States two years ago and settled in Denver Colorado. Julio began dancing at the ripe age of 10 years old for the National Ballet of Colombia. Julio also studied with the well-known choreographer and dancer Romir Echeverry and performed for his artistic dance company for six years.
Julio has danced for and performed with the following dance companies: Tierra Colombiana Ballet (Ballet and Colombian folk), Herencia Viva Dance Group (Afro-Colombian dance), Bacata Cultural Center (Jazz, Contemporary and classic training group), Alma Latina and Salsa Na’ma (Colombian style salsa). Julio also became a member of the Barajas Academy Theater and The Barraca Theater where he fell in love of the art of acting.
Julio’s professional teaching skills developed at a young age working as an instructor for summer camps and as an instructor for the Colombian Institute of Learning INCAP. Julio also created the Artistic foundation Kairos Pasion, dedicated to exploring, learning and performing multiple rhymes of the Colombian Folk dance, Ballroom dancing and International dances. Julio and his dance company won two different choreography awards from the Local and Mayor Office in Bogotá, Colombia and were invited to perform at several national festivals.
When Julio is not dancing, choreographing or moving to the beat of the music, he works in journalism. As a Social Communicator he constantly writes stories, develops events, or works in public relations. Julio is always striving to give back to the community in response to all the blessings he has received.
